CHAPTER XXXV. 1 Eight and forty cities given to the Levites: 6 six of them to be cities of refuge. 9 The laws concerning murder. (CHAP. 35.) AND the LORD spake unto Moses 13 And Moses commanded the children of Israel, saying, This is a Jos. 14.3,4. the land which ye shall inherit by 21.2,&c. lot, which the LORD commanded Eze.45. 1, to give unto the nine tribes, and to &c. the half tribe: 14 Form the tribe of the children of Reuben according to the house in the plains of Moab, by Jordan near Jericho, saying, 2 Command a the children of Israel, that they give unto the Levites, of the inheritance of their possession, cities to dwell in; and 48.8,&c. ye shall give also unto the Levites suburbs for the cities round about them. |
