4 O, let not one permitted sin
Lurk my deceitful heart within;
Safe in thy paths my footsteps guide,
And hold me, that I may not slide.

10's & 11's.

OW wondrous art thou, omnipotent Lord! How great are thy works, how faithful thy word!

Who shall not adore thee, beholding thy ways, And tremble before thee, and sing to thy

praise!

2 Upheld by thy hand, through peril and woe Unhurt we pursue our journey below;

The Lord of salvation hath trodden this road, Through sore tribulation he reach'd his abode. 3 And we, by his grace, are ready to brave Pain, trouble, and shame, the cross, and the [outshed, On paths dark and dreary, his day-beam Gives strength to the weary, and life to the dead.

4 O Saviour of men! command us to come,

And guide in the way to thy heavenly home: We long to adore thee in glory's bright blaze, To triumph before thee, and shout to thy praise.

Y soul, repeat his praise,
Whose mercies are so great;
Whose anger is so slow to rise,

So ready to abate.

2 God will not always chide;

And, when his strokes are felt,

His strokes are fewer than our crimes,
And lighter than our guilt.

3 High as the heavens arise Above the ground we tread, So far the riches of his grace

Our highest thoughts exceed. 4 His power subdues our sins; And his forgiving love,

Far as the East is from the West,
Doth all our guilt remove.

5 The pity of the Lord,

To those that fear his name,
Is such as tender parents feel;
He knows our feeble frame.

6 Our days are as the grass,

Or like the morning flower:

If one sharp blast sweep o'er the field,

It withers in an hour.

7 But thy compassions, Lord,

To endless years endure;

And children's children ever find
Thy words of promise sure.

GREAT God, how wonderful art thou

In all thy works and ways!

To thee should all thy creatures bow,
And meditate thy praise.

2 The summer's heat, the winter's cold,
The seasons all proclaim,

As each their various scenes unfold,
Thy goodness still the same.

3 In flowers and fruits, and trees and herbs, The earth thy bounty gives;

By thee, the fishes, beasts, and birds,
And every being lives.

4 Thy mighty hand, thy watchful care, Direct each fleeting hour;

And nature's countless forms declare Thy wisdom, love, and power. 5 But in the Saviour's works Divine We learn the wondrous plan, Where justice, love, and mercy join To save rebellious man.

PRAISE

7's & 6's.

SE the Lord, who reigns above, And keeps his courts below;

Praise the holy God of love,

And all his greatness show:

Praise him for his noble deeds,

Praise him for his matchless power;
Him from whom all good proceeds
Let earth and heaven adore.

2 Celebrate the' eternal God
With harp and psaltery;
Timbrels soft, and cymbals loud,
In his high praise agree;
Praise him every tuneful string,
All the reach of heavenly art,
All the power of music bring,
The music of the heart.

3 Him in whom they move and live
Let all the creatures sing;

Glory to their Maker give,

And homage to their King:
Hallow'd be his name beneath,

As in heaven on earth adored;
Praise the Lord in every breath;
Let all things praise the Lord!

KINGDOM OF GOD.

S's & 7's.

COME, thou long-expected Jesus!

Born to set thy people free;
From our fears and sins release us,
Let us find our peace in thee!
2 Israel's Strength and Consolation,
Hope of all the earth thou art;
Thou, Desire of every nation,
Joy of every longing heart!

3 Born thy people to deliver;
Born a child, and yet a King!
Born to reign in us for ever;
Now thy gracious kingdom bring.
4 By thine own eternal Spirit,
Rule in all our hearts alone;
By thine all-sufficient merit,
Raise us to thy glorious throne.

SAVIOUR, round thy footstool bending,
See this youthful band appear;

Let thy Spirit, now descending,
Our petition deign to hear.
Thou art ready;

For thy grace is always near.
2 No harsh words of indignation
Drive this little flock from thee;
Gentle is thy invitation,

"Suffer them to come to me."
Blessed Saviour,

Let us each thy kingdom see.

3 Take us, then, thou kind Protector,
Fold us 'neath thy watchful care;
Be our Shepherd, Friend, Director,
In thy arms of mercy bear.
Guide to glory:
