FIRST LINE OF HYMN.

Jesus, tender Shepherd, hear me...
Jesus, the very thought of Thee...

Jesus, where'er Thy people meet.......
Just as I am, without one plea.
Lamb of God, I look to Thee..
Lead us, heavenly Father, lead us...
Let us sing with one accord..
Let us, with a gladsome inind..
Little drops of water....
Little travellers Zionward..
Lo, at noon 'tis sudden night..

Lo, He comes, with clouds descending.

Lord, a little band and lowly.
Lord, look upon a little child.
Lord of mercy and of might.

Mighty God, while angels bless Thee...
My faith looks up to Thee.

My God and Father, while I stray.
Nearer, my God, to Thee..
O paradise! O paradise!

O Saviour, bless us ere we go..

O Thou, whom neither time nor space
Onward, Christian soldiers.....
Return, O wanderer, to thy home

Rock of Ages, cleft for me...
Sadly bend the flowers.

Saviour, breathe an evening blessing.
Saviour, sprinkle many nations.
See, in yonder manger low.
Shall we gather at the river..

There is a better world, they say..

We sing the praise of Him who died..

[blocks in formation]

1 A LITTLE child the Saviour came, The mighty God was still His name, And angels worshipped, as He lay, The seeming infant of a day.

2 He who, a little child, began

The life divine to show to man, Proclaims from heaven the message free,

"Let little children come to Me."

3 We bring them, Lord, and with the sign Of sprinkled water, name them Thine: Their souls with saving grace endow, Baptize them with Thy Spirit now.

4 Oh give Thine angels charge, good Lord!

Them safely in Thy way to guard; Thy blessing on their lives command, And write their names upon Thy hand.

5 O Thou, who by an infant's tongue
Dost hear Thy perfect glory sung,
May these, with all the heavenly host,
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost!

2.

ABIDE WITH ME! FAST FALLS THE EVENTIDE.

3.

1. A-bide with me! fast falls the e-ven-tide; The dark-ness deep-ens; Lord, with me a-bide!

When o-ther help-ers fail,and com-forts flee, Help of the help-less,oh, a-bide with me!

2 Swift to its close ebbs out life's little day;
Earth's joys grow dim, its glories pass away;
Change and decay in all around I see:

O Thou who changest not, abide with me!

3 I need Thy presence every passing hour

What but Thy grace can foil the tempter's power?
Who like Thyself my Guide and Stay can be?
Through cloud and sunshine, oh abide with me!

4 I fear no foe, with Thee at hand to bless;

Ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness:
Where is death's sting? where, grave, thy victory ?
I triumph still, if Thou abide with me.

5 Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes,

Shine through the gloom, and point me to the skies;

Heaven's morning breaks, and earth's vain shadows flee :
In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me!
