NOTICE.

Two distinct articles are herewith presented to the reader, relating to the proceedings of the Jewish chief priests and elders, which led to the crucifixion of Jesus.

The first is a chapter from a work of Mr. J. Salvador, a physician and a learned Jew of Paris, on "The Institutions of Moses and the Hebrew People." In a previous chapter on "The Administration of Justice," he states their course of criminal procedure. This is followed by a chapter, (book iv., ch. 3,) entitled, "The Trial and Condemnation of Jesus," which is an attempt to defend the conduct and proceedings of the chief priests and elders. As it has evidently been prepared with great care and labor, by a man of
