Wrath killeth the foolish man...Job. v. 2.

Cease from anger, and forsake wrath:...Ps. xxxvii. 8. For evildoers shall be cut off...9.

Give ear to my prayer, O God;...Ps. lv. 1. ...Because of the oppression of the wicked: for they cast iniquity upon me, and in wrath they hate me.—3. Evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.-Ps. cxl. 11.

A fool's wrath is presently known...Prov. xii. 16. He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly...Prov. xiv. 17. He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.-29.

A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.-Prov. xv. 18.

The wrath of a king is as messengers of death: but a wise man will pacify it.—Prov. xvi. 14.

He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.-32.

GUARD THE TONGUE:

AVOID STRIFE AND QUARRELS.

And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren.Gen. xiii. 8.

Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left.-9. ...He (Joseph) sent his brethren away, and they departed and he said unto them, See that ye fall not out by the way.-Gen. xlv. 24.

Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people...Lev. xix. 16.

Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue. ...Job. v. 21.

Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? Who shall dwell in thy holy hill ?—Ps. xv. 1.

He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.-3.

Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.-Ps. xxxiv. 13.
