The hope of the righteous shall be gladness. ...Prov. x. 28.

He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.-Prov. xxi. 21. ...They that seek the Lord understand all things. -Prov. xxviii. 5.

...This is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us this is the Lord; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation. -Isa. xxv. 9.

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is staid on thee... Isa. xxvi. 3.

...The desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee.-8.

RELIGIOUS ZEAL.

Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the Lord's side ? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him.-Ex. xxxii. 26.

And they came, every one whose heart stirred him up, and every one whom his spirit made willing, and they brought the Lord's offering to the work of the tabernacle of the congregation, and for all his service, and for the holy garments.-Ex. xxxv. 21.

And Moses said unto him, (Joshua) Enviest thou for my sake? would God that all the Lord's people were prophets, and that the Lord would put his spirit upon them!--Num. xi. 29.

And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,Num. xxv. 10.

Phineas, the son of Eleazar...hath turned my wrath away from the children of Israel, while he 1 was zealous for my sake among them...11.

Wherefore say, Behold, I give unto him my covenant of peace:-12.

And he shall have it, and his seed after him, even the covenant of an everlasting priesthood; because he was zealous for his God.-13.

And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.— 1 Kings xviii. 21.

Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the Lord; but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men.-22.

...Call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the Lord: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken.-24.

And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word.-36.

Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the Lord God...37.

Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust...38.

And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces and they said, The Lord, he is the God; the Lord, he is the God.-39.

And he (Elijah) said, I have been very jealous for the Lord God of hosts...1 Kings xix. 10.

And he (Jehu) said, Come with me, and see my zeal for the Lord...2 Kings x. 16.

And they entered into a covenant to seek the Lord God...with all their heart and with all their soul;2 Ch. xv. 12.

And they sware unto the Lord with a loud voice, and with shouting, and with trumpets, and with cornets.-14.

And all Judah rejoiced at the oath for they had sworn with all their heart, and sought him with their whole desire; and he was found of them...15.

And they taught in Judah, and had the book of the law of the Lord with them, and went about throughout all the cities of Judah, and taught the people.-2 Ch. xvii. 9.

And the fear of the Lord fell upon all the kingdoms of the lands...10.

And in every work that he (Hezekiah) began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart.-2 Ch. xxxi. 21.

...I have not concealed the words of the Holy One.— Job vi. 10.
