Also in Judah the hand of God was to give them one heart to do the commandment of the king and of the princes, by the word of the Lord.-2 Ch. xxx. 12. ...For the Lord had made them joyful, and turned the heart of the King of Assyria unto them, to strengthen their hands in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel.-Ezra vi. 22.

Blessed be the Lord God of our fathers, which hath put such a thing as this in the king's heart, to beautify the house of the Lord which is in Jerusalem.-Ezra vii. 27.

The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the Lord.-Prov. xvi. 1.

The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it withersoever he will.-Prov. xxi. 1.

Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.-2.

If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it....Prov. xxiv. 12.

But thou, O Lord, knowest me: thou hast seen me, and tried mine heart toward thee....Jer. xii. 3. But, O Lord of hosts, that triest the righteous, and seest the reins and the heart.-Jer. xx. 12.

Thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel,...I acknowledge them that are carried away captive of Judah,... Jer. xxiv. 5.

And I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the Lord...for they shall return unto me with their whole heart.-7.

...After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts... Jer. xxxi. 33.

And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them.-Jer. xxxii. 39.

...I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.-40.

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit

will I put within you and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.-Eze. xxxvi. 26.

And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.-27.

KEEP THE HEART PURE.

And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect... Ex. xxiii. 13.

Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest. ...Ex. xxxiv. 12.

...Seek not after your own heart and your own eyes. ...Num. xv. 39.

Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life...Deut. iv. 9.

...Love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and and with all thy soul...Deut. vi. 5.

Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them.-Deut. xi. 16.

Therefore shall ye lay up these words in your
