THE FAVOUR OF GOD

A SHIELD AND A BLESSING.

...Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.Gen. vi. 8.

And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing.-Gen. xii. 2.

...The Lord hath blessed my master greatly; and he is become great... Gen. xxiv. 35.

And Isaac said unto them, Wherefore come ye to me, seeing ye hate me, and have sent me away from you?-Gen. xxvi. 27.

And they said, We saw certainly that the Lord was with thee and we said, Let there be now an oath betwixt us, even betwixt us and thee;...28.

That thou wilt do us no hurt,...as we have done unto thee nothing but good, and have sent thee away in peace: thou art now the blessed of the Lord.-29.

And Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah to the field unto his flock,-Gen. xxxi. 4.

And said unto them, I see your father's countenance, that it is not toward me as before; but the God of my father hath been with me.-5.

And your father hath deceived me, and changed my wages ten times; but God suffered him not to hurt me.-Gen. xxxi. 7.

And Laban said to Jacob,...26.

It is in the power of my hand to do you hurt: but the God of your father spake unto me yesternight, saying, Take thou heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.-29.

Except the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely thou hadst sent me away now empty. God hath seen mine affliction and the labour of my hands, and rebuked thee yesternight.—42.

And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man..... Gen. xxxix. 2.

And his master saw that the Lord was with him, and that the Lord made all that he did to prosper in his hand.-3.

And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him...4.

And Joseph's master took him, and put him into the prison, a place where the king's prisoners were bound and he was there in the prison.-20.

But the Lord was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison.-21.

And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph's hand all the prisoners that were in the prison; and whatsoever they did there, he was the doer of it.—22.

The keeper of the prison looked not to anything that was under his hand; because the Lord was with him, and that which he did, the Lord made it to prosper.-Gen. xxxix. 23.

And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the spirit of God is ?-Gen. xli. 38.

And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God had respect unto them.-Ex. ii. 25.

And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians... Ex. iii. 21.

The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.-Ex. xiv. 14.

...The Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the Lord fighteth for them against the Egyptians.-25.

And the Lord said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name.-Ex. xxxiii. 17.

If the Lord delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey.-Num. xiv. 8.
