I am the Lord, your Holy One...Isa. xliii. 15. Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my. witnesses. Is there a God beside me ? yea, there is no God; I know not any.-Isu. xliv. 8.

Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. -Isa. xlv. 22.

...Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? or have I no power to deliver ?... Isa. 1. 2.

Behold, the Lord God will help me...9.

Who is among you that feareth the Lord ?...let him trust in the name of the Lord, and stay upon his God.-10.

Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord.—Jer. i. 8.

Truly in vain is salvation hoped for from the hills, and from the multitude of mountains: truly in the Lord our God is the salvation of Israel.—Jer. iii. 23.

Thus saith the Lord, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: -Jer. ix. 23.

But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord...24. Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.-Jer. xvii. 7.

Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise. -Jer. xvii. 14.

...I will surely deliver thee...because thou hast put thy trust in me, saith the Lord.-Jer. xxxix. 18.

Whether it be good, or whether it be evil, we will obey the voice of the Lord our God...Jer. xlii. 6. ...Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.-Dan. iii. 17.

Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him...that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.-28.

...Because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort.-29.

All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the princes, the counsellors, and the captains, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a firm decree, that whosoever shall ask a petition of any God or man for thirty days, save of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions. -Dan. vi. 7.

Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being opened in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and

prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.-Dan. vi. 10.

Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.-16.

Then said Daniel unto the king,...21.

My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions' mouths, that they have not hurt me...22.

So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he belived in his God.-23.

For all people will walk every one in the name of his God, and we will walk in the name of the Lord our God for ever and ever.-Micah iv. 5.

The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. -Nah. i. 7.

...The just shall live by his faith.-Habak. ii. 4.

Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:-Habak. iii. 17.

Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.-18.

GOD OUR BEST FRIEND: SEEK COUNSEL AND GUIDANCE OF HIM.

...God is with thee in all that thou doest.-Gen. xxi. 22. And he said, O Lord God...send me good speed this day, and shew kindness unto my master.— Gen. xxiv. 12.

...I being in the way, the Lord led me to the house of my master's brethren.-27.

And he said unto me, The Lord, before whom I walk, will send his angel with thee, and prosper thy way...40.

And I bowed down my head, and worshipped the Lord, and blessed the Lord God of my master Abraham, which had led me in the right way to take my master's brother's daughter unto his son.-48.

And he said unto them, Hinder me not, seeing the Lord hath prospered my way...56.

...And she went to enquire of the Lord.-Gen. xxv. 22. And Moses cried unto the Lord, saying, What shall I do unto this people ?...Ex. xvii. 4.

...The people come unto me to enquire of God.Ex. xviii. 15.

Hearken now unto my voice, I will give thee counsel, and God shall be with thee: Be thou for the people God-ward, that thou mayest bring the causes unto God.-Ex. xviii. 19.

...And it came to pass, that every one which sought the Lord went out unto the tabernacle of the congregation, which was without the camp.-Ex. xxxiii. 7. ...If from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.-Deut. iv. 29.

And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel?...Judg. vi. 15.

And the Lord said unto him, Surely I will be with thee...16.

And they said unto him, Ask counsel, we pray thee, of God, that we may know whether our way which we go shall be prosperous.-Judg. xviii. 5.

And the children of Israel arose, and went up to the house of God, and asked counsel of God, and said, Which of us shall go up first to the battle against the children of Benjamin? And the Lord said, Judah shall go up first.-Judg. xx. 18.

And the children of Israel enquired of the Lord, (for the ark of the covenant of God was there in those days,-27.

And Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, stood before it in those days,) saying, Shall I yet again go out to battle against the children of Benjamin my brother, or shall I cease?...28.
