The Lord hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death.-Ps. cxviii. 18.

FAITH IN GOD.

BELIEVE AND TRUST IN HIM.

...Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.—Gen. xv. 1.

And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness.-6.

And the angel of the Lord called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time,—Gen. xxii. 15.

And said,...for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son :-16.

That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven...17.

And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.-18. ...Fear not, for I am with thee... Gen. xxvi. 24.

...I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation.-Gen. xlvi. 3.

That they may believe that the Lord God of their fathers,...hath appeared unto thee.—Ex. iv. 5.

And the people believed: and when they heard

that the Lord had visited the children of Israel, and that he had looked upon their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshipped.-Ex. iv. 31.

Behold, to-morrow about this time I will cause it to rain a very grievous hail... Ex. ix. 18.

Send therefore now, and gather thy cattle, and all that thou hast in the field: for upon every man and beast which shall be found in the field, and shall not be brought home, the hail shall come down upon them, and they shall die.-19.

He that feared the word of the Lord among the servants of Pharaoh made his servants and his cattle flee into the houses:-20.

And he that regarded not the word of the Lord left his servants and his cattle in the field.-21. ...And the Lord sent thunder and hail, and the fire ran along upon the ground;...23.

And the hail smote throughout all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both man and beast...25.

Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew you to day...Ex. xiv. 13. ...Speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward.-15.

...And the people feared the Lord, and believed the Lord, and his servant Moses.-31.

...Dread not, neither be afraid of them.-Deut. i. 29.

The Lord your God which goeth before you, he shall fight for you...30.
