Cause us to be fervent in prayer, and joyful in thy praises, and to serve thee this day without distraction; that we may find that a day in thy courts is better than a thousand, and that it is good for us to draw near to God; through Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. GOD created man in his image.

Gen. i. 27.

By one man sin entered into the Rom. v. 12. world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.

For all have sinned, and come short Rom. iii. 23. of the glory of God.

God so loved the world, that he gave John iii. 16. his only-begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. He that believeth on him shall not 18. be condemned: but he that believeth not, is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only-begotten Son of God.

And this is the condemnation, that 19. light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil, hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved,

John iii. 5.

Except a man be born of water and

That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Matt. xviii. 3. Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Ezek. xxxiii, 11. Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways: for why will ye die, O house of Israel ?

Luke xv. 10. I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God, over a sinner that repenteth.
