In Dispute: Conflict Resolution for School Leaders

Thomas Stapleford, Ed.D., J.D., worked for 20 years in public education, spending 15 as a high school principal and superintendent of schools in New York and Pennsylvania.  He is a certified mediator and serves as a mediator and labor arbitrator for the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board and the Office of Dispute Resolution of the PA Department of Education.

Dr. Stapleford is currently Clinical Assistant Professor of Education and Coordinator of Graduate Education Programs for Temple University’s Harrisburg, PA campus.  In addition, he serves as Program Director for the masters’ degree programs in Educational Leadership and Middle Level Education at Walden University, a leading online university.  He holds a bachelor’s degree and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the Pennsylvania State University, a master’s degree from Brown University, a doctorate in educational administration from Columbia University, as well as a law degree.  Dr. Stapleford resides in Lemasters, PA with his wife Lisa and sons Benjamin, Daniel and Peter.
