them; and they shall afflict them four

whom they shall serve, will I judge: and
afterward shall they come out with great
substance. (15) But thou shalt go to thy
fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in
a good old age. (16) And in the fourth
generation they shall come hither again :
for the iniquity of the Amorite is not yet
full. (17) And it came to pass, that,
when the sun went down, and it was dark,
behold a smoking furnace, and a flaming
torch that passed between these pieces.
(18) In that day the LORD made a cove-
nant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed
have I given this land, from the river of
Egypt unto the great river, the river Eu-
phrates: (19) the Kenite, and the Ken-
izzite, and the Kadmonite, (20) and the
Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Repha-
im, (21) and the Amorite, and the Canaan-
ite, and the Girgashite, and the Jebusite.

15 After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, * and thy exceeding great reward. (2) And Abram said, O Lord GOD, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and he that shall be possessor of my house is Dammesek Eliezer? (3) And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir. (4) And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This man shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir. And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes. (11) And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son; and thou shalt call his name 'Ishmael, because the LORD hath heard thy affliction. (12) And he shall be as a wildass among men; his hand shall be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren. (13) And she called the name of the LORD that spake unto her, *Thou art a God that seeth: for she said, Have I even here looked after him that seeth me? (14) Wherefore the well was called Beer-lahai-roi; behold, it is between Kadesh and Bered. (15) And Hagar bare Abram a son: and Abram called the name of his son, which Hagar bare, Ishmael. (16) And Abram was fourscore and six years old, when Hagar bare Ishmael to Abram.

(2) And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. (3) And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, (4) As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be the father of a multitude of nations. (5) Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for the father of a multitude of nations have I made thee. (6) And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. (7) And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee and to thy seed after thee. (8) And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land of thy sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God. (9) And God said unto Abraham, And as for thee, thou shalt keep my covenant, thou, and thy seed after thee throughout their generations. This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; every male among you shall be circumcised. (11) And ye shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of a covenant betwixt me and you. (12) And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every male throughout your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed. (13) He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant. (14) And the uncircumcised male who is

(24) Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven; (25) and he overthrew those cities, and all the Plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground. (26) But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt. (27) And Abraham gat up early in the morning to the place where he had stood before the LORD: (28) and he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrahı, and toward all the land of the Plain, and beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the land went up as the smoke of a furnace.

(12) And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whomsoever thou hast in the city; bring them out of the place (13) for we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it. (14) And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which 2 married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the LORD will destroy the city. But he seemed unto his sons in law as one that mocked. (15) And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city. (16) But he lingered; and the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the
