To meet the increasing demands of these days for cheap books, the Committee decided, in 1886, to issue a series of volumes, nearly uniform in size and shape with the old 'Monthly Volume.' Each book contains 192 pages, the size of the page is slightly larger than in the old Monthly Volume, and each book contains from one to six illustrations. In paper covers the price is threepence, in cloth sixpence. 'Not only are they remarkably well printed and got up externally, but they may also be thoroughly relied on as providing wholesome reading.'-Record. The initials which form the substance of the brief title to this series of books, being interpreted, indicate that this is the Religious Tract Society Library. It is no news to state that for many years past this great publishing association have been issuing excellent popular literature not by any means limited in its scope and character. The R. T. S. Library is the newest series in a succession of libraries which have had an extraordinary number of readers.'-School Board Chronicle. The books of this little library are published at the price of threepence, and are even greater marvels of cheapness than those of the National Library of Messrs. Cassell & Co., for they are equally well printed, are rather larger, and deal with modern literature. "Olive's Story" is a very pathetic tale of very humble life in the cotton metropolis. The book on Canada is one of the best, as well as the cheapest, geographical readers that could be introduced into a school.'-Educational Times. 1. Canadian Life and Scenery.
