The statistics concerning colleges, universities, normal schools, and other educational institutions close with the term ending July 1, 1892. Very respectfully, E. B. MCELROY, Superintendent Public Instruction. REPORT. The report is designed to embrace the following outline indicated in section 13 of the school law: 1. The general condition of the public schools of the State: 2. Amount of school money apportioned among the several counties, and the sources whence such moneys are raised; 3. Amounts raised by county and district taxes, and the amounts paid for teachers' salaries, buildings, furniture, etc.; 4. The series of text-books authorized by the school law: 5. Rules and regulations prescribed by the State Board of Education for the government of the public schools; 6. Number and grade of schools in each county; 7. Number of persons between the ages of four and twenty years; number attending public schools; number attending private schools; number not attending any school; 8. Statistics concerning chartered educational institutions and institutions under the patronage of the State; 9. General educational information. |
