Art thou weary, art thou languid ?
Blot out our sins of old

Brief life is here our portion

Come, Holy Ghost, our souls inspire

Come unto Me, ye weary.

Days and moments quickly flying

Great God, what do I see and hear?.

Hark! hark, my soul! angelic songs are

Hark! 'tis the watchman's cry.

Heal me,

Lord Jesu, think on me

That Thy way may be known upon
earth; Thy saving health among
all nations. Psalm lxvii. 2.

6.6.6.6.8.8.

ARISE, O Lord, and shine
In all Thy saving might,
And prosper each design
To spread Thy glorious light:
Let healing streams of mercy flow,
That all the earth Thy truth may know.

O bring the nations near,

That they may sing Thy praise ;
Let all the people hear

And learn Thy holy ways:

Reign, Mighty God, assert Thy cause,
And govern by Thy righteous laws.

3 f Put forth Thy glorious power:

4 f

The nations then shall see,

And earth present her store,

In converts born to Thee:

God, our own God, His Church shall bless,
And earth be filled with righteousness.

To God, the Father, Son,

And Spirit ever Blest,
Eternal Three in One,

All worship be addressed:

Join, all on earth, rejoice and sing;

All glory give to God our King. Amen.

W. Hurn (1754-1829).

The Gospel must first be published among all nations.
Mark xiii. 10.

1 mf FROM Greenland's icy mountains,
From India's coral strand,
Where Afric's sunny fountains
Roll down their golden sand,
From many an ancient river,
From many a palmy plain,
They call us to deliver

dim

Their land from error's chain.

2 mf What though the spicy breezes
Blow soft o'er Ceylon's isle,
Though every prospect pleases,
And only man is vile;

dim

Р

In vain with lavish kindness
The gifts of God are strown,
The heathen in his blindness

Bows down to wood and stone.

3 mf Can we, whose souls are lighted
With wisdom from on high,
Can we to men benighted
The lamp of life deny?

[ocr errors]

f Salvation! Oh, Salvation!
The joyful sound proclaim,
Till each remotest nation

Has learnt Messiah's Name.

4 Waft, waft, ye winds, His story,
And you, ye waters, roll,
Till like a sea of glory

It spreads from pole to pole;
Till o'er our ransomed nature
The Lamb for sinners slain,
Redeemer, King, Creator,

In bliss returns to reign. Amen.

7.6.
