THE TREATMENT OF THOSE WHO DO NOT FOLLOW WITH US. Mark ix., 38-50. 38JOHN said to him, Teacher, we saw some one casting out demons in thy name who followeth not us, and we forbade him, because he followed not us. 39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no one who shall do a mighty work in my name, and be able lightly to speak evil of me: 40 For he who is not against us is for us. 41 For whoever shall give you to drink a cup of water in my name, because ye are of Christ, verily I say to you, he shall not lose his reward. 12And whoever shall cause one of these little ones who believe to fall away, it is good for him rather if a millstone were hung about his neck, and he were cast into the sea. 43 And if thy hand cause thee to sin, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into the gehenna, into the fire unquenchable. 45 And if thy foot cause thee to sin, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life lame than having two feet to be cast into the gehenna. 47 And if thine eye cause thee to sin, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into the gehenna: 48Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. 49 For every one shall be salted with fire. 50The salt is good: but if the salt become saltless, with what will ye season it ?
