This booklet tells exactly where the public can call or go for the answers to every conceivable kind of question about the District government, such as: where to call for birth and death certificates; how to reach the Mayor, the City Administrator, or any other District official; how to lodge complaints about street or alley closings; how to adopt a pet; where to call with consumer complaints; how to obtain contracts with the city; what to do if a motor vehicle is ticketed, towed or booted; where to apply for jobs with the city or obtain a social security card or a driver's license; what is the city's tax structure; what special services are available for the Latino community; where are public libraries located and what are their hours; what is the procedure for registering and voting in the city; where are recreational facilities located; where are neighborhood health clinics located and what services do they provide, and, what programs are available for those with drug abuse, domestic or financial problems.
