With the exception of the newspaper and other publications, these mechanisms have a fiscal impact on this Office only in so far as printing/reproduction/mailing costs are concerned. These costs are reflected, as projected for 1981, in A-3 of this statement.

The newspaper is funded thru in-direct cost revenues. Costs in FY 1981 related to the production of other publications will be borne by the agencies for which they are developed.

Federal and Other Funds Summary

With the exception of the one (1) GS-4 CETA Administrative
Aide staff person, this office is not supported by any grants,
reimbursement contracts or federal funding sources. Request for
change of the afforementioned CETA position to the appropriated
permanent line of this Office and its FY 1981 fiscal impact is
discussed in A-1 of this statement.

Supplies and Materials (0 pos., and $5.0)

$5.0 is requested for supplies to cover increased
costs for paper in which to produce press releases, PSA
announcements, and other publications. Funds are also
necessary to procure much needed reference materials
and publications.

Other Services and Charges (0 pos., and $18.8)

Increase necessary to print, "For Your Information: Services of the District of Columbia Government," the pamphlet is the only complete directory of its kind published in the District of Columbia. Since the inaugural edition was published in 1972, it has been the single most requested, most valuable guide to the District government's programs, services and facilities.

This booklet tells exactly where the public can call or go for the answers to every conceivable kind of question about the District government, such as: where to call for birth and death certificates; how to reach the Mayor, the City Administrator, or any other District official; how to lodge complaints about street or alley closings; how to adopt a pet; where to call with consumer complaints; how to obtain contracts with the city; what to do if a motor vehicle is ticketed, towed or booted; where to apply for jobs with the city or obtain a social security card or a driver's license; what is the city's tax structure; what special services are available for the Latino community; where are public libraries located and what are their hours; what is the procedure for registering and voting in the city; where are recreational facilities located; where are neighborhood health clinics
