(Rom. viii. 16.) The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.

(Acts, xiii. 38.) Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins.

(Eph. iv. 32.) And be ye kind one to another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

(Col. i. 14.) In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.

QUEST. (Matt. xxvi. 41.) Watch and pray, that ye enter 78. not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

(1 Cor. x. 13.) There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

(2 Peter, ii. 9.) The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations.

Who delivered us from so great a 79. death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us.

(Gal. i. 4.) Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father.

(1 Pet. i. 3, 4, 5.) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

QUEST. (Heb. x. 26, 27.) For if we sin wilfully after that 92. we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

(Heb. ii. 2.) For if the word spoken by angels was steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward; How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation.

QUEST. (Acts, ii. 38.) Then Peter said unto them, Repent, 95. and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

(Acts, viii. 36, 37.) And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water: what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

QUEST. (Matt. xxvi. 26-28.) And as they were eating, 98. Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

QUEST. (Matt, xxvi. 41,) Watch and pray, that ye enter 43. not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

(Ephes. vi. 11.) Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

(1 Pet. v. 8.) Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.

(James, iv. 7, 8.) Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.

QUEST. (Matt. xxii. 37, 39.)

Jesus said unto him, Thou 45. shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

QUEST. (Matt. iv. 10.) It is written, Thou shalt worship 46. the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. (Matt. vi, 24.) No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. cannot serve God and mammon.
