Legislation designed to assist temporarily was duced and passed, namely, H. R. 5283 (S. 2111 passed in lieu, lic Law No. 442). Further studies should be made of this problem. he committee is now in the process of developing legislation to take of many of the problems that have been called to our attention he course of this study. The committee has conserved its funds uch as possible, notwithstanding the fact a number of emergency lems arose in which the committee by having hearings in the field bringing the departments and interested parties together was to assist in a number of public-land problems, and hearings were in various parts of the country where the situation was most acute. committee has not used all of the funds appropriated for it. is felt that in view of the new problems arising from time to time reference to public lands and immense acreage involved the y should be continued. |
