THE object of this work is, first, to give those who are yet inclined to use in earnest that oft repeated expression, 'Universalism may do to live by, but will not sustain the soul in death,' an opportunity of learning the error of this statement; and secondly, to exhibit in undeniable facts, the power and influence of the gospel of impartial grace in the hour of dissolution; that those who know it not, may embrace and enjoy it; and that all professors of the same to whom these statements shall come, may realize the magnitude of that great doctrine of life and immortality which has been opened to their view; and strive not only to cherish its holy principles within their own hearts, but to diffuse these principles abroad among their fellow men |
