Falsehood of the prophets.

3 Who also eat the flesh of my people, and flay their skin from off them; and they break their bones, and chop them in pieces, as for the pot, and as flesh within the caldron. 4 Then shall they cry unto the LORD, but a he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have be haved themselves ill in their doings.

5 Thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets b that make my people err, that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace; and he that putteth not into their mouths, they even prepare war against him:

6 Therefore night shall be unto you, 1 that ye shall not have a vision and it shall be dark unto you, 2 that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them.

7 Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover c their 3 lips; ford there is no answer of God. 8 But truly I am full of power e by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare f unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.

9 Hear this, I pray you, ye heads of the house of Jacob, and princes of the house of Israel, that abhor judgment, and pervert all equity. 10 They g build up Zion with 4 blood, and Jerusalem with ini quity.

11 The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for h hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the LORD, 5 and say, Is i not the LORD among us? none evil can come upon us.

12 Therefore shall Zion for your sake be ploughed as a field, and k Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest.

CHAPTER IV.

1 The establishment of Christ's kingdom: 3 The peace, restoration, kingdom, and victory of the church.

BUT a in the last days it shall

come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the b top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and the people shall flow unto it.

2 And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and c he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for

3 For this is he that was spoken of b by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

4 And the same John had his raiment c of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts d and wild honey.

5 Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judea, and all the region round about Jordan,

6 And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing e their sins.
