For Help.

THY law is perfect, Lord of light,
Thy testimonies sure;

The statutes of thy realm are right,
And thy commandment pure.

Let these, O God, my soul convert,
And make thy servant wise;
Let these be gladness to my heart,
The dayspring to mine eyes.

By these may I be warned betimes;
Who knows the guile within?
Lord, save me from presumptuous crimes,
Cleanse me from secret sin.

So may the words my lips express,
The thoughts that throng my mind,
O Lord, my strength and righteousness,
With thee acceptance find.

MONTGOMERY.

The Lord's Prayer.

OUR heavenly Father, hear
The prayer we offer now:
Thy name be hallowed far and near;
To thee all nations bow.

Thy kingdom come; thy will
On earth be done in love,
As saints and seraphim fulfil
Thy perfect law above.

Our daily bread supply,

While by thy word we live,

The guilt of our iniquity
Forgive as we forgive.

From dark temptation's power
Our feeble hearts defend;

Deliver in the evil hour,

And guide us to the end.

Thine, then, forever be

Glory and power divine;

The sceptre, throne, and majesty

Of heaven and earth are thine.

MONTGOMERY,

The Lord's Prager.

THY name be hallowed evermore ;
O God, thy kingdom come with power;
Thy will be done, and, day by day,
Give us our daily bread, we pray.

Lord, evermore to us be given

The living bread that came from heaven:

Water of life on us bestow;

Thou art the source, the giver thou.

MORAVIAN.

CLOSING WORSHIP.

Dedication to God.

HOLY Father, thou hast taught me
I should live to thee alone;

Year by year thy hand hath brought me
On through dangers oft unknown.
When I wandered, thou hast found me;
When I doubted, sent me light;

Still thine arm has been around me,
All my paths were in thy sight.

I would trust in thy protecting,
Wholly rest upon thine arm,
Follow wholly thy directing,

Thou mine only guard from harm!
Keep me from mine own undoing,
Help me turn to thee when tried,
Still my footsteps, Father, viewing,
Keep me ever at thy side!

ANONYMOUS.

All is of God.

ALL is of God! If he but wave his hand,
The mists collect, the rain falls thick and loud,
Till, with a smile of light on sea and land,
Lo! he looks back from the departing cloud.

Angels of life and death alike are his;

Without his leave they pass no threshold o'er; Who, then, would wish or dare, believing this, Against his messengers to shut the door?

LONGFELLOW.

Imploring Dibine Light.

O THOU, whose power o'er moving worlds presides,
Whose voice created, and whose wisdom guides!
On darkling man in pure effulgence shine,
And cheer the clouded mind with light divine!

'Tis thine alone to calm the pious breast With silent confidence and holy rest;

From thee, great God, we spring; to thee we tend, Path, motive, guide, original, and end.

DR. JOHNSON.
