Come then, True and Faithful, now fulfil thy word;

'Tis thine own third morning; rise, my buried Lord!

Welcome, happy morning, &c.

6 Loose the hearts long prison'd, bound with Satan's chain;

All that now is fallen raise to life again;
Show thy face in brightness, bid the nations

see;

Bring again our daylight: day returns with

thee.

ALLELUIA! ALLELUIA! ALLELUIA!

1 THE strife is o'er, the battle done: The victory of life is won:

The song of triumph has begun,—

Alleluia !

2 The powers of death have done their worst, But Christ their legions hath dispersed ; Let shouts of holy joy outburst,—

Alleluia !

3 The three sad days have quickly sped;
He rises glorious from the dead;
All glory to our risen Head!

Alleluia!

4 He brake the age-bound chains of hell; The bars from heaven's high portals fell; Let hymns of praise his triumph tell:

Alleluia !

5 Lord, by the stripes which wounded thee, From death's dread sting thy servants free, That we may live, and sing to thee

Alleluia !

Return, ye ransom'd sinners, home.
4 Ye, who have sold for nought
Your heritage above,

Receive it back unbought,
The gift of Jesus' love:

The of Jubilee is come;

Return, ye ransom'd sinners, home."

Now is Christ risen from the dead.
1 Cor. xv. 20.

1 AGAIN the Lord of life and light
Awakes the kindling ray,
Unseals the eyelids of the morn,
And pours increasing day.

2 0 what a night was that which wrapp'd
The heathen world in gloom;
O what a sun which broke this day
Triumphant from the tomb!

3 The powers of darkness leagued in vain
To bind our Lord in death:

He shook their kingdom, when he fell,
By his expiring breath.

4 This day be grateful homage paid,
And loud Hosannas sung:

Let gladness dwell in every heart,
And praise on every tongue.

5 Ten thousand differing lips shall join
To hail this welcome morn,

Which scatters blessings from its wings
On nations yet unborn.

I am he that liveth and was dead.

Rev. i. 18.

1 JESUS lives: no longer now

Can thy terrors, Death, appal us;
Jesus lives by this we know

Thou, O Grave, canst not enthral us.
Alleluia!

2 Jesus lives: henceforth is death
But the gate of life immortal;
This shall calm our trembling breath,
When we pass its gloomy portal.
Alleluia!

3 Jesus lives: for us he died:
Then, alone to Jesus living,
Pure in heart may we abide,
Glory to our Saviour giving.
Alleluia !

4 Jesus lives: our hearts know well
Nought from us his love shall sever;
Life, nor death, nor powers of hell
Tear us from his keeping ever.
Alleluia !

5 Jesus lives: to him the throne
Over all the world is given:
May we go where he is gone,
Rest and reign with him in heaven.
Alleluia! Amen.

Behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail.
Matt. xxviii. 9.

1 THE day of Resurrection,
Earth, tell it out abroad:
The Passover of gladness,
The Passover of God!
From death to life eternal,

From this world to the sky,
Our Christ hath brought us over,
With hymns of victory.

2 Our hearts be pure from evil,
That we may see aright

The Lord in rays eternal
Of resurrection-light;
