O God, on all assembled here;
with filial fear. 2 Command thy blessing, Jesu, Lord,
May we thy true disciples be;
Say to the weakest, Follow me.
Spirit of truth, and fill this place
With quickening and confirming grace. 4 O thou, our Maker, Saviour, Guide,
One true Eternal God confess'd,
The saints in thy communion bless’d.

Ruler of the earth and sea,
Holy chant and psalm.
Lift us on thy light divine;
Breathe on us her balm.
Let it close on sin forgiven;
Shed a holy calm.

Dimly here we worship thee;
Hope to bear the palm.'
Ancient of days,
Laud we and praise.
Saviour of all,
On thee we call.
Thee we adore.
Trembling ascend :
World without end.

Ps. xxxvi. 7.
Above the heavenly orb ascends;
Beyond the spreading sky extends.
2 Thy justice like the hills remains ;
Ünfathom’d depths thy judgments are;
The whole creation is thy care. 3 Since of thy goodness all partake,

To banquet on thy love's repast :
Of joys that shall for ever last.
Thy presence is eternal day :
To upright hearts thy truth display.”
The heavens declare the glory of God.
Ps. xix. 1.
1 The heavens declare thy glory,
The firmament thy power;
Repeats from hour to hour :
Proclaims in every land,
The wonders of thy hand.
Goes forth to chant thy praise;
Their gentler anthem raise :
That music strange is pour'd;
To thee, creation's Lord.
3 How perfect, just, and holy
The precepts thou hast given;
They lift the thoughts to heaven:
Thy gospel's heavenly ray,
Than noon of brightest day!
Rejoice the humble heart;
From contrite souls depart:
s'han dwells within the mine,
Attends thy voice divine.
Of every secret sin ;
His spirit pure within ?
From thy commands depart,
The service of my heart.
To do its Maker's will;
Resound thy praises still:
Thoughts, words, and actions be,
One ceaseless song to thee."

What endless glory shines !
For these celestial lines.
