3 Plenteous of grace, descend from high
Rich in thy sevenfold energy;
The Father and the Son by thee.
Attend the Almighty Father's name;
Eternal Paraclete, to thee. Amen. 249 They were all filled with the Holy Ghost. [D.S.M.
Acts ii. 4.
In this accepted hour,
Descend in all thy power:
In our appointed place,
The Spirit of all grace.
Upon the waves beneath,
One soul, one feeling, breathe :
With wisdom from above;
To pray, and praise, and love.
And chase our gloom away
Unto the perfect day;
In life and death our guide ;
May we be sanctified.
He dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
John xiv. 17.
1 COME, Holy Spirit, come;
Let thy bright beams arise ;
The darkness from our eyes.
Thou heavenly Paraclete;
At our Redeemer's feet.
Our doubts and fears remove;
Of never-dying love.
Then lead to Jesus' blood;
The secret love of God.
To sanctify the soul,
And new create the whole.
Our minds from bondage free;
The Father, Son, and Thee.
Thou sendest forth thy Spirit; they are
created.-Ps. civ. 30.
1 COME, thou holy Paraclete,
Send thy light and brilliancy.
Come, the soul's true radiancy.
3 Come, of comforters the best,
Come in toil refreshingly.
Comfort in adversity.
Of thy faithful company.
Comes from thy Divinity.
What is parched, fructify.
Draw the wanderer tenderly.
With thy sevenfold mystery.
And in heaven felicity.
252 I am he that comforteth you.—Isa. li. 12.
1 Come to our dark nature's night
With thy blessed inward light,
Sick and faint; thy strength afford :
3 Orphan are our souls and poor;
Give us, from thy heavenly store,
Guide, subdue cur wayward will,
Make thy temple in each breast,
And with voiceless groanings plead
Earnest of our bliss on high,
Bear us up the starry road
253 If I depart, I will send him unto you. [P.M.
John xvi. 7.
His tender last farewell,
With us to dwell.
With sheltering wings outspread,
On earth to shed.
3 He came sweet influence to impart,
A gracious willing Guest,
Wherein to rest.
Soft as the breath of even, That checks each thought, that calms each fear,
And speaks of heaven. 5 And every virtue we possess, ,
And every victory won,
Are his alone.
Our weakness, pitying, see;
And meet for thee."

love of God, and the communion of the Holy
Ghost, be with you all.—2 Cor. xiii. 14.
A ransom for our souls hath found,
To us thy pardoning love extend. 2 Almighty Son, incarnate Word,
Our Prophet, Priest, Redeemer, Lord,
To us thy saving grace extend.
