of delays caused by transcription of trials or hearings for the record on appeal. Of special interest here is the Center's cooperation with the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration. We are currently engaged in a cooperative planning effort and expect to mutually fund a project thereby avoiding duplication and maximizing the use of Center funds. In this context I should also mention that we have initiated a cooperative effort with the D.C. Legal Aid agency, the D.C. Court of General Sessions, the D.C. District Court, the U. S. Attorney's office, and the D. C. Office of Crime Analysis to combine efforts on common elements of research being done by each group, to assure maximum compatibility for information interchange and to identify areas where costs could be reduced by utilizing the developments of any of the cooperating organizations. I should like to emphasize that these are not our only plans for the future, but I think they point out the scope: and range of our projects and the care and deliberateness with which we intend to see them through. I want to thank you again for inviting me here this morning and I will be happy to answer any questions. 2/ Whether a magistrate position is full-time or part-time depends on the volume of matters to be handled.
