OF SURPLUS PROPERTY UNDER THE COMMITTEE ON EXPENDITURES IN THE EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENTS

Mr. LECOMPTE, from the Committee on House Administration, submitted the following

REPORT

[To accompany H. Res. 478]

The Committee on House Administration, to whom was referred the resolution (H. Res. 478) providing that the further expenses of conducting the studies and investigations with respect to the disposition of surplus property authorized by rule XI (1) (h) incurred by the Committee on Expenditures in the Executive Departments, acting as a whole or by subcommittee, not to exceed $25,000 additional, including expenditures for the employment of experts, special counsel, clerical, stenographic, and other assistants, shall be paid out of the contingent fund of the House on vouchers authorized by such committee or subcommittee and signed by the chairman of the committee or subcommittee, and approved by the Committee on House Administration, having considered the same, report favorably thereon without amendment and recommend that the resolution do pass.

AUTHORIZING THE PRINTING OF ADDITIONAL COPIES OF HOUSE REPORT NO. 1274 FOR THE USE OF THE COMMITTEE ON WAYS AND MEANS

Mr. LECOMPTE, from the Committee on House Administration, submitted the following

REPORT

[To accompany H. Res. 469]

The Committee on House Administration, to whom was referred the resolution (H. Res. 469) authorizing that there be printed 1,000 additional copies of the report (H. Rept. No. 1274) accompanying H. R. 4790, the bill to reduce individual tax payments, for the use of the Committee on Ways and Means, at a cost of $217.55 for the first thousand, and $69.53 for each additional thousand, having considered the same, report favorably thereon with amendments and recommend that the resolution do pass.

The amendment is as follows:

Line 1, strike out the words "one thousand" and insert "twentyfive hundred" in lieu thereof.

INCREASING THE EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE OF RURAL CARRIERS FOR A PERIOD OF 2 YEARS

Mr. REES, from the committee of conference, submitted the following CONFERENCE REPORT

[To accompany S. 203]

The committee of conference on the disagreeing votes of the two Houses on the amendments of the House to the bill (S. 203) to increase the equipment maintenance of rural carriers 1 cent per mile per day traveled by each rural carrier for a period of three years, and for other purposes, having met, after full and free conference, have agreed to recommend and do recommend to their respective Houses as follows: That the Senate recede from its disagreement to the amendment of the House to the text of the bill and agree to the same with an amendment as follows:

On page 2, line 1, of the House engrossed amendments, strike out "twelve months" and insert in lieu thereof two years; and the House agree to the same.

That the Senate recede from its disagreement to the amendment of the House to the title of the bill and agree to the same with an amendment as follows:

Strike out "twelve months" and insert in lieu thereof two years; and the House agree to the same.
