It also includes some documents, on matters of major concern to this country, which were issued by other governments or by regional international organizations of which the United States is not a member. The present volume continues the series which began with two earlier publications-A Decade of American Foreign Policy: Basic Documents, 1941-1949 (Senate Document 123, 81st Congress, 1st Session) and American Foreign Policy, 1950–1955: Basic Documents (Department of State publication 6446). The first of the annual volumes, American Foreign Policy: Current Documents, 1956, was issued as Department of State publication 6811. The succeeding volumes were issued as publications 7101 (for the year 1957), 7322 (for 1958), 7492 (for 1959), 7624 (for 1960), 7808 (for 1961), 8007 (for 1962), 8111 (for 1963), 8253 (for 1964), and 8372 (for 1965). The volume for 1966, prepared under the general supervision of Peter V. Curl, was compiled by John P. Glennon, directing the project, and Evans Gerakas, with the assistance of Mary P. Chapman, Cora H. Feld, Allen H. Kitchens, and Margaret G. Martin. Research help was provided by Lois Allder, Kathleen J. Day, Frank Keel, James Leonard, Ned Morris, Patrick A. Mulloy, Emita L.
