R. 17147] The Committee on Interstate and Foreign Commerce, to whom was referred the bill (H. R. 17147) to legalize a bridge across the St. Francis River 4 miles west of Kennett, Mo., joining Dunklin County, Mo., and Clay County, Ark., having considered and amended the same, report thereon with a recommendation that it pass. Amend the bill as follows: Line 7, after the word "structure," insert the following: "If in the judgment of the Chief of Engineers and the Secretary of War the bridge as constructed does not and will not hereafter unreasonably obstruct or interfere with the interests of navigation,". Amend the bill as follows: Line 3, strike out the word "Francois" and insert the word "Francis" in lieu thereof. Line 6, after the word "structure," insert the following: if, in the judgment of the Chief of Engineers and the Secretary of War, the bridge as constructed does not and will not hereafter unreasonably obstruct or interfere with the interests of navigation, Amend the title to read as follows: To legalize a bridge across the St. Francis River one-fourth mile south of Greenville, Wayne County, Missouri.
