Besides ordinary purposes of reference this Index is designed to give assistance in the more systematic reading of the New Testament. It facilitates, for example, a comparative study of the Parables of Jesus; or a comprehensive review of his life, or of the leading thoughts in the Epistles. It can be used to trace major or minor personages, or localities, in the narrative. (The lists of items, however, must not be understood as exhaustive.) Many other uses of it will suggest themselves to in- dividual students or teachers.
