do they reap, nor gather into | for the things of itself. Sufbarns; yet your heavenly Fa- ficient unto the day is the ther feedeth them. Are ye evil thereof. not much better than they? 27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his ftature? 28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Confider the lilies of the field, how they grow they toil not, neither do they spin: 29 And yet I fay unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Wherefore, if God fo clothe the grafs of the field, which to-day is, and to-morrow is caft into the oven, fhall be not much more clothe you, Q ye of little faith? 31 Therefore take no thought, faying, What shall we eat? or what fhall we drink? or wherewithal fhall we be clothed? 32 (For after all thefe things do the Gentiles feek ;) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. CHAP. VII. J ye be UDGE not, that not judged. 2 For with what judgement ye judge, ye shall be judged; and with what meafure ye mete, it shall be meafured to you again. 3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but confidereft not the beam that is in thine own eye? 4 Or how wilt thou fay to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? 5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then fhalt thou fee clearly to caft out the mote out of thy brother's eye. 6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither caft ye your pearls before fwine; left they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you. 7 Afk, and it fhall be given you; feek, and ye fhall find; knock, and it fhall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh, receiveth; and he that feeketh, feeketh, findeth; and to him a corrupt tree bringeth forth that knocketh, it fhall be evil fruit. opened. 9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his fon afk bread, will he give him a ftone? 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit; neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit, is hewn down, and caft into the fire. 10 Or, if he ask a fifh, will he give him a ferpent? II If ye then being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more fhall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that afk him? 12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even fo to them: for this is the law and the prophets. 13 ¶ Enter ye in at the ftrait gate; for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leadeth to deftruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because ftrait is the gate, and narrow is the way which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. 15 ¶ Beware of falfe prophets, which come to you in fheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye fhall know them by their fruits: Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thiftles? 17 Even fo every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye fhall know them. 21 Not every one that faith unto me, Lord, Lord, fhall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will fay to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophefied in thy name? and in thy name have caft out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profefs unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. 24 ¶ Therefore, whofoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wife man which built his house upon a rock : 25 And the rain defcended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that houfe; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And B 4 16 Then he that had received the five talents, went and traded with the fame, and made them other five talents. 17 And likewife he that had received two, he alfo gained other two. 18 But he that had re-fown, and gathering where thou haft not strawed: ceived one, went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money. 25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou haft that is thine. 19 After a long time the lord of those fervants cometh, and reckoneth with them. 20 And fo he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, faying, Lord, thou deliveredft unto me five talents: behold, I have gained befide them five talents more. 21 His lord faid unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful fervant: thou haft been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord, many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. 24 Then he which had received the one talent came, and faid, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou haft not. 22 He also that had received two talents came and faid, Lord, thou deliveredft unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents befide them : 26 His lord answered and | faid unto him, Thou wicked and flothful fervant, thou kneweft that I reap where I fowed not, and gather where I have not ftrawed: 23 His lord faid unto him, 30 And caft ye the unproWell done, good and faith-fitable fervant into outer ful fervant; thou haft been darknefs: there fhall be faithful over a few things, I weeping and gnafhing of will make thee ruler over teeth. 31 ¶ When 31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then fhall he fit upon the throne of his glory: 32 And before him fhall be gathered all nations and he fhall feparate them one from another, as a fhepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: 33 And he fhall fet the fheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then fhall the King fay unto them on his right hand, Come, ye bleffed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was fick, and ye vifited me: I was in prifon, and ye came unto me. 37 Then fhall the righteous answer him, faying, Lord, when faw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirty, and gave thee drink? 40 And the King fhall anfwer and fay unto them, Verily I fay unto you, Inafmuch as ye have done it unto one of the leaft of thefe my brethren, ye have done it unto me. 38 When faw we thee a ftranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39 Or when faw we thee fick, or in prifon, and came unto thee? 41 Then fhall he fay alfo unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye curfed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels : 35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: Ime not. was thirty, and ye gave me drink: I was a ftranger, and ye took me in: 42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: 43 I was a ftranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: fick, and in prifon, and ye vifited 44 Then fhall they alfo anfwer him, faying, Lord, when faw we thee an hungred, or athirft, or a firanger, or naked, or fick, or in prifon, and did not minister unto thee? 45 Then fhall he answer them, faying, Verily I fay unto you, Inafmuch as ye did it not to one of the leaft of thefe, ye did it not to me. 46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
