pearing of our Lord Jefus Chrift:
15 Which in his times he fhall fhew, who is the bleffed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;
16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto, whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlafting. Amen.
18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to diftribute, willing to communicate;
HOU therefore, my fon, be strong in the grace that is in Chrift Jefus. 2 And the things that thou haft heard of me among many witnesses, the fame commit thou to faithful men, who fhall be able to teach others alfo.
19 Laying up in ftore for themselves a good foundation againft the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not high-minded, nor truft in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth faith. us richly all things to enjoy; | Amen,
3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good foldier of Jefus Chrift,
4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he
20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy truft, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppofitions of fcience falfely fo called :
21 Which fome profeffing, have erred concerning the Grace be with thee;
From the Second Epiftle of PAUL to
may please him who hath chosen him to be a foldier.
5 And if a man alfo strive for mafteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.
6 The hufbandman that. laboureth, must be first par taker of the fruits.
7 Confider what I fay; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.
8 Remember that Jefus Christ, of the feed of David, was raised from the dead according to my gofpel:
Wherein I fuffer trouble
already; and overthrow the faith of fome.
as an evil doer, even unto bonds but the word of God is not bound.
10 Therefore I endure all things for the elect's fakes, that they may alfo obtain the falvation which is in Chrift Jefus, with eternal glory.
11 It is a faithful faying: For if we be dead with him, we fhall also live with him:
12 If we fuffer, we fhall alfo reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny
13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.
14 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord, that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the fubverting of the hearers. 15 Study to fhew thyfelf approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be afhamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
16 But fhun profane and vain babblings; for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
17 And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymeneus and Philetus;
18 Who, concerning the truth, have erred, faying, that the refurrection is paft
19 Nevertheless the foundation of God ftandeth fure, having this feal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Chrift depart from iniquity.
20 But in a great house there are not only veffels of gold, and of filver, but also of wood, and of earth; and fome to honour, and fome to difhonour.
21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he fhall be a veffel unto honour, fanctified and meet for the mafter's ufe, and prepared unto every good work.
22 Flee alfo youthful lufts: but follow righteoufnefs, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
23 But foolish and unlearned queftions avoid, knowing that they do gender ftrifes,
24 And the fervant of the Lord must not ftrive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
25 In meekness inftructing thofe that oppose themfelves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
9 But they fhall proceed no further: for their folly fhall be manifeft unto all men, as their's alfo was,
10 But thou haft fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longfuffering, charity, patience,
11 Perfecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lyftra; what perfecutions I endured; but out of them all the Lord delivered me.
12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Chrift Jefus fhall fuffer perfecution.
13 But evil men and feducers fhall wax worfe and worfe, deceiving, and being deceived.
2 For men fhall be lovers of their own felves, cove tous, boafters, proud, blaf phemers, difobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, truce-breakers, falfe accufers, incontinent, fierce, defpifers of thofe that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast 5 Having a form of god-learned, and haft been affured of, knowing of whom thou haft learned them;
linefs, but denying the power thereof: from fuch turn away.
6 For of this fort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive filly women, laden with fins, led away with divers lufts,
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
8 Now as Jannes, and Jambres withftood Mofes, fo do these also refift the truth; men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
15 And that from a child thou haft known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wife unto falvation, through faith which is in Chrift Jefus.
16 All fcripture is given by infpiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for inftruction in righteoufness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnifhed unto all good works. H 4
The Epiftle of PAUL to PHILEMON.
AUL, a prisoner of Jefus Chrift, and Timothy our brother, unto Philemon, our dearly beloved and fellow-labourer,
2 And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellow-foldier, and to the church in thy house:
3 Grace to you, and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jefus Christ.
6 That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jefus.
7 For we have great joy and confolation in thy love, because the bowels of the faints are refreshed by thee, brother.
4 I thank my God, mak-own bowels: ing mention of thee always in my prayers,
5 Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou haft toward the Lord Jefus, and toward all faints;
8 Wherefore, though I might be much bold in Chrift to injoin thee that which is convenient,
and now also a prifoner of Jefus Chrift.
10 I beseech thee for my fon Onefimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds:
II Which in time paft was to thee unprofitable, but now profitable to thee and
9 Yet for love's fake I rather befeech thee, being fuch an one as Paul the aged,
12 Whom I have fent again: thou therefore receive him, that is, mine
13 Whom I would have retained with me, that in thy ftead he might have miniťtered unto me in the bonds of the gospel :
14 But without thy mind would I do nothing; that thy benefit fhould not be as it were of neceffity, but willingly.
15 For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou fhouldeft receive him for ever;
16 Not now as a fervant, but above a fervant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more unto thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord?
17 If thou count me therefore a partner, receive him as myself.
18 If he hath wronged thee,
thee, or oweth thee ought, I wilt alfo do more than I fay.
22 But withal prepare me also a lodging: for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given unto you.
23 There falute thee Epaphras, my fellow-prisoner in Chrift Jefus ;
put that on mine account;
19 I Paul have written it with mine own hand, I will repay it: albeit I do not say to thee how thou oweft unto me even thine ownfelf befides.
20 Yea, brother let me have joy of thee in the Lord: refresh my bowels in the Lord.
21 Having confidence in thy obedience, I wrote unto thee, knowing that thou
OD, who at fundry times, and in divers manners, fpake in time paft unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom alfo he made the worlds:
24 Marcus, Ariftarchus, Demas, Lucas, my fellow labourers.
From the Epiftle of PAUL to the HEBREWS.
4 Being made fo much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
5 For unto which of the angels faid he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
3 Who, being the brightnefs of his glory, and the exprefs image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our fins, fat down on the right hand of the Majefty on high;
25 The grace of our Lord Jefus Chrift be with your fpirit. Amen.
6 And again, when he bringeth in the first begotten into the world, he faith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
7 And of the angels he faith, Who maketh his angels fpirits, and his minifters a flame of fire.
