DEAR SIR,-At a meeting of the Porter Rhetorical Society, held this afternoon, in the Chapel of the Seminary, it was unanimously resolved,—“ That the thanks of the Society be presented to the Rev. Dr. Bethune for his eloquent Oration, delivered before them, on the occasion of their present Anniversary;—and that a copy be earnestly requested for publication." The undersigned were appointed a Committee to communicate to you this Resolution; and it is with great pleasure that they express, in this manner, for themselves and their friends, the delight with which they have listened to your Discourse.
