DEAR MR. SPEAKER: Certificates of election in due form have been filed in this office showing the election to the House of Representatives of the Seventieth Congress to fill vacancies as follows:

Hon. LAFAYETTE L. PATTERSON, fifth district of Alabama, elected November 6, 1928, to succeed Hon. William B. Bowling, who resigned August 16, 1928.

Hon. EARL W. VINCENT, ninth district of Iowa, elected June 4, 1928, to succeed Hon. William R. Green, who resigned March 31, 1928.

Hon. JOHN W. MCCORMACK, twelfth district of Massachusetts, elected November 6, 1928, to succeed Hon. James A. Gallivan, who died April 3, 1928.

Hon. RICHARD B. WIGGLESWORTH, fourteenth district of Massachusetts, elected November 6, 1928, to succeed Hon. Louis A. Frothingham, who died August 23, 1928.

Hon. FRANCIS D. CULKIN, thirty-second district of New York, elected November 6, 1928, to succeed Hon. Thaddeus C. Sweet, who died May 1, 1928.

Hon. ROBERT R. BUTLER, second district of Oregon, elected November 6, 1928, to succeed Hon. Nicholas J. Sinnott, who resigned May 31, 1928.

Hon. JAMES WOLFENDEN, eighth district of Pennsylvania, elected November 6, 1928, to succeed Hon. Thomas S. Butler, who died May 26, 1928.
