3 And Abraham called the name of his son, that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac.

4 And Abraham circumcised his

God had commanded him.

5 And Abraham was a hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him.

3 And Abram fell on his face:

and God talked with him, saying, 4 As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.

5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.

7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy for an everlasting covenant, to be seed after thee in their generations, a God unto thee and to thy seed

after thee.

8 And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.

Gen. 17:1-8-Abraham, That is, A multitude of nations. These texts are set in reversal as in Levit. 26:42-Then will I remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land.

Jer. 17:9-11-9 ¶ The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

10 I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

11 As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool.
