9. Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy Name.

816.

PSALM vi. 4. Turn thee, O Lord, and deliver my soul: O save me for thy mercy's sake.

5. For in death no man remembereth thee: and who will give thee thanks in the pit?

2, 3. O Lord, have mercy upon me, for I am weak, and my soul also is sore troubled: but, Lord, how long wilt thou punish me?

9. The Lord hath heard my petition: the Lord will receive my prayer.

817.

PSALM 1XXV. 1. Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks: yea, unto thee do we give thanks.

2. Thy Name also is so nigh: and that do thy wondrous works declare.

lxxvi. 7. Thou, even thou art to be feared: and who may stand in thy sight when thou art angry.

lxxv. 11. I will talk of the God of Jacob: and praise him for

ever.

12. All the horns of the ungodly will I break: and the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.

818.

PSALM CXXI. 1. Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my eyes: from whence cometh my help.

2. Our help is in the Name of the Lord: who made heaven and earth.

xliii. 3. O send out thy light and thy truth, that they may lead me and bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy dwelling. 4. There, to the pleasant harp, my voice I'll raise

To thee, O God, my God, in songs of praise.

819.

PSALM XXV. 1. Unto thee, O Lord, will I lift up my soul; my God, I have put my trust in thee: O let me not be confounded, neither let mine enemies triumph over me.

3. Show me thy ways, O Lord: and teach me thy paths. 7. Gracious and righteous is the Lord: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.

8. Them that are meek shall he guide in judgment: and such as are gentle, them shall he learn his way.

9. All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth: unto such as keep his covenant, and his testimonies.

820.

Vital spark of heav'nly flame!
Quit, oh quit this mortal frame!
Trembling, hoping, ling'ring, flying;
Oh the pain, the bliss, of dying!
Cease, fond nature! cease thy strife,
And let me languish into life.

Hark! they whisper; angels say,
Sister spirit, come away.

What is this absorbs me quite?
Steals my senses, shuts my sight,
Drowns my spirits, draws my breath?
Tell me, my soul, can this be death?

The world recedes; it disappears!
Heav'n opens on my eyes! my ears
With sounds seraphic ring:

Lend, lend your wings! I mount! I fly!
O grave! where is thy victory?

Ŏ death! where is thy sting?

821.

PSALM xlviii. 8. We wait for thy loving-kindness, O God: in the midst of thy temple.

9. O God, according to thy Name, so is thy praise unto the world's end: thy right hand is full of righteousness.

10. Let the mount Sion rejoice, and let the daughter of Judah be glad because of thy judgments, O Lord.

11. Walk about Sion, and go round about her: and tell the towers thereof.

12. Mark well her bulwarks, set up her houses: that ye may tell them that come after.

13. For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide unto death.

822.

1. JOHN v. 4. Whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

7. For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

8. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. REV. iv. 8. Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.

xi. 17. We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.

823.

PSALM CXiv. 1. When Israel came out of Egypt: and the house of Jacob from among the strange people,

2. Judah was his sanctuary: and Israel his dominion.

3. The sea saw that, and fled: Jordan was driven back.

4. The mountains skipped like rams: and the little hills like young sheep.

5. What aileth thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest: and thou Jordan, that thou wast driven back?

6. Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams: and ye little hills, like young sheep?

7. Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord: at the presence of the God of Jacob. Hallelujah.

824.

1 CORINTHIANS xiii. 11. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
