He hath not dealt with us after our sins, neither rewarded us after our iniquities for as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. Ps. ciii. 10, 11.

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. Ps. li. 17.

When the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness which he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive. Ezek. xviii. 27.

I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. Ps. li. 3.

Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. Ps. li. 9.

Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints. Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy all nations shall come and worship. before thee; for thy judgements are made manifest. Rev. xv. 3, 4.

The Lord is our strength and song, and he is become our salvation; he is our God, and we will praise him, our fathers' God, and we will exalt him. Ex. xv. 2.

To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against him; neither have we obeyed the voice of the Lord our God, to walk in his laws which he set before us. Dan. ix. 9, 10.

Rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the Lord your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of

From the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith the Lord of hosts. Mal. i. 11.

Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be: even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgements. Rev. xvi. 5, 7.

O Lord, correct us, but with judgement; not in thine anger, lest thou bring us to nothing. Jer. x. 24. Ps. vi. 1.

Thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel: our fathers trusted in thee, and thou didst deliver them; they trusted in thee, and were not confounded. Ps. xxii. 3—5.

Enter not into judgement with thy servants, O Lord for in thy sight shall no man living be justified. Ps. cxliii. 2.

Fear God, and give glory to him; and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. Rev. xiv. 7.

Repent ye, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Matt. iii. 2.

The Lord is in his holy temple, the Lord's throne is in heaven; his eyes behold, his eyelids try the children of men. Ps. xi. 4.

Honour and majesty are before him: strength and beauty are in his sanctuary: O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness; fear before him all the earth. Ps. xcvi. 6, 9.

We have erred, and strayed from thy way

Luke ii. 14.

Through the tender mercy of our God the dayspring from on high hath visited us, to give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace. Luke i. 78, 79.

We will make mention of thy loving-kindness, O God, in the midst of thy temple; according to thy name, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth; thy right hand is full of righteousness. Ps. xlviii. 9, 10.

O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me to thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles: then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy;

xliii. 3, 4.

then will I praise thee, O God, my God. Ps. The Lord is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him. Hab. ii. 20.

Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. Is. lv. 7.

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us: but, if we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 St. John i. 8, 9.

DEARLY beloved brethren, the Scripture moveth us in sundry places to acknowledge and confess our manifold sins and wickedness: and that we should not dissemble nor cloke them before the face of Almighty God our heavenly Father; but confess them with an humble, lowly, penitent, and obedient heart; to the end that we may obtain forgiveness of the same, by his infinite goodness and mercy. And although we ought at all times humbly to acknowledge our sins before God; yet ought we most chiefly so to do, when we assemble and meet together to render thanks for the great benefits that we have received at his hands, to set forth his most worthy praise, to hear his most holy Word, and to ask those things which are requisite and necessary, as well for the body as the soul. Wherefore let us beseech him to grant us true repentance, and his holy Spirit, that those things may please him, which we do at this present; and that the rest of our life hereafter may be pure, and holy; so that at the last we may come to his eternal joy, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

the devices and desires of our own hearts. We have offended against thy holy laws. We have left undone those things which we ought to have done; And we have done those things which we ought not to have done; And there is no health in us. But thou, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable offenders. Spare thou them, O God, which confess their faults. Restore thou them that are penitent; According to thy promises declared unto mankind in Christ Jesu our Lord. And grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake; That we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life, To the glory of thy holy Name. Amen.

the Ten Commandments; and the people, still kneeling, shall ask of God mercy for their transgression thereof for the time past, and grace to keep the same for the time to come, as followeth:

Thou shalt not make to thyself any graven image, nor the likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or in the earth beneath, or in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord

thy God in vain: for the Lord will not hold him guiltless, that taketh his Name in vain.

Remember that thou keep holy the Sabbathday. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all that thou hast to do; but the seventh day is

Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, which is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it.

Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundantly: thou settlest the furrows thereof: thou makest it soft with showers: thou blessest the springing thereof.

Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness.

They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness and the little hills rejoice on every side. The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing.

PSALM 92.

T is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High:

To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night,

Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound.

For thou, Lord, hast made me glad through thy work; I will triumph in the works of thy hands.

O Lord, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep.

A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this.

When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever:

But thou, Lord, art most high for evermore.

In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also.

The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land.

O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.

For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To-day if ye will hear his voice,

Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the

The righteous shall flourish like the palmtree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;

To shew that the Lord is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

PSALM 95.

COME, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise unto the rock of our salvation.

Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.

For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.

Thou knowest my down-sitting and mine up-rising, thou understandest my thought

Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether.

If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.
