Editor's Note. In accordance with previous custom the subject matter of Volume 16 of the Furniture Manufac-
turer and Artisan has been alphabetically classified according to title of general context under a series of twenty-
three heads, each of which is pertinent to the technical mission of the publication. Original Titles, whether used as
a basis of classification or in amplified cases of the index title, are enclosed in quotation marks. Authors' names and
department of publication are included in every instance not indicated by general heads. All principal illustrations
are alphabetically indexed following the editorial classification.
