yr oedd trallod nid bychan yn mhlith y milwyr, pa beth a ddaethai o Petr.

19 Eithr Herod, pan ei ceisiodd ef, ac heb ei gael, a holodd y ceidwaid, ac a orchymynodd eu cymmeryd hwy ymaith. Yntau a aeth i waered o Judea i Cesarea, ac a arhosodd yno.

20 Eithr Herod oedd yn llidiog iawn yn erbyn gwŷr Tyrus a Sidon: a hwy a ddaethant yn gyttûn atto; ac wedi ynnill Blastus, yr hwn oedd ystafellydd y brenhin, hwy a ddeisyfasant dangnefedd; am fod eu gwlad hwynt yn cael ei chynnaliaeth o wlad y brenhin.

21 Ac ar ddydd nodedig, Herod, gwedi gwisgo dillad brenhinol, a eisteddodd ar orsedd-faingc, ac a areithiodd wrthynt.

22 A'r bobl a roes floedd, Lleferydd Duw, ac nid dyn ydyw.

19 And when Herod had sought for him, and found him not, he examined the keepers, and commanded that they should be put to death. And he went down from Judea to Cesarea, and there abode.

20 T And Herod was highly displeased with them of Tyre and Sidon: but they came with one accord to him, and, having made Blastus the king's chamberlain their friend, desired peace; because their country was nourished by the king's country.

21 And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them.

22 And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man.

23 And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.

24 But the word of God grew and multiplied.

25 And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem, when they had fulfilled their ministry, and took with them John, whose surname was Mark.

3 Yna wedi iddynt ymprydio, a gweddio, a dodi eu dwylaw arnynt, hwy a'u gollyngasant ymaith.

4 A hwythau, wedi eu danfon ymaith gan yr Yspryd Glân, a ddaethant i Seleucia; ac oddi yno a fordwyasant i Cyprus.

5 A phan oeddynt yn Salamis, hwy a bregethasant air Duw yn synagogau yr Iuddewon: ac yr oedd hefyd ganddynt Ioan yn weinidog.

6 Ac wedi iddynt dramwy trwy yr ynys hyd Paphus, hwy a gawsant ryw swynwr, gau brophwyd o Iuddew, a'i enw Bar-iesu;

7 Yr hwn oedd gyd â'r rhaglaw, Sergius Paulus, gwr call: hwn, wedi galw atto Barnabas a Saul, a ddeisyfodd gael clywed gair Duw.

8 Eithr Elymas y swynwr (canys felly y cyfieithir ei enw ef) a'u gwrthwynebodd hwynt, gan geisio gŵyrdroi y rhaglaw oddi wrth y ffydd.

9 Yna Saul (yr hwn hefyd a elwir Paul) yn llawn o'r Yspryd Glân, a edrychodd yn graff arno ef,

10 Ac a ddywedodd, O gyflawn o bob twyll a phob ysgelerder, tydi mab diafol, a gelyn pob cyfiawnder, oni pheidi di â gŵyro uniawn ffyrdd yr Arglwydd?

11 Ac yn awr wele, y mae llaw yr Arglwydd arnat ti, a thi a fyddi ddall heb weled yr haul dros amser. Ac yn ddïattreg y syrthiodd arno niwlen a thywyllwch ; ac efe a aeth oddi amgylch gan geisio rhai i'w arwain erbyn ei law.

12 Yna y rhaglaw, pan welodd yr hyn a wnaethid, a gredodd, gan ryfeddu wrth ddysgeidiaeth yr Arglwydd.

13 A Phaul a'r rhai oedd gyd âg ef a aethant ymaith o Paphus, ac a ddaethant i Perga yn Pamphylia; eithr Ioan a ymadawodd oddi wrthynt, ac a ddychwelodd i Jerusalem.

3 And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.

4 So they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, departed unto Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus.

5 And when they were at Salamis, they preached the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews: and they had also John to their minister.

6 And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Bar-jesus:

7 Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God.

8 But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith.

9 Then Saul, who also is called Paul, filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him,

10 And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?

11 And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand.

12 Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.

13 Now when Paul and his company loosed from Paphos, they came to Perga in Pamphylia: and John departing from them returned to Jerusalem.

14 Eithr hwynt-hwy, wedi ymado o Perga, a ddaethant i Antiochia yn Pisidia, ac a aethant i mewn i'r synagog ar y dydd sabbath, ac a eisteddasant.

15 Ac ar ol darllen y gyfraith a'r prophwydi, llywodraethwyr y synagog a anfonasant attynt, gan ddywedyd, Ha wŷr frodyr, od oes gennych air o gynghor i'r bobl, traethwch.

16 Yna y cyfododd Paul i fynu, a chan amneidio â'i law am osteg, a ddywedodd, O wŷr o Israel, a'r rhai ydych yn ofni Duw, gwrandewch.

17 Duw y bobl hyn Israel a etholodd ein tadau ni, ac a ddyrchafodd y bobl, pan oeddynt yn ymdeithio y'ngwlad yr Aipht, ac â braich uchel y dug efe hwynt oddi yno allan.

18 Ac ynghylch deugain mlynedd o amser y goddefodd efe eu harferion hwynt yn yr anialwch.

19 Ac wedi iddo ddinystrio saith genedl yn nhir Canaan, â choelbren y parthodd efe dir y rhai hynny iddynt hwy.

20 Ac wedi y pethau hyn, dros yspaid ynghylch pedwar cant a deng mlynedd a deugain, efe a roddes farnwyr iddynt, hyd Samuel y prophwyd.

21 Ac ar ol hynny y dymunasant gael brenhin: ac fe a roddes Duw iddynt Saul mab Cis, gwr o lwyth Benjamin, ddeugain mlynedd.

22 Ac wedi ei ddiswyddo ef, y cyfododd efe Dafydd yn frenhin iddynt; am yr hwn y tystiolaethodd, ac y dywedodd, Cefais Dafydd mab Jesse, gwr yn ol fy nghalon, yr hwn a gyflawna fy holl ewyllys.

23 O had hwn, Duw, yn ol ei addewid, a gyfododd i Israel yr Iachawdwr Iesu :

24 Gwedi i Ioan rag-bregethu o flaen ei ddyfodiad ef i mewn, fedydd edifeirwch i holl bobl Israel.

14 But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and sat down.

15 And after the reading of the law and the prophets, the rulers of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, Ye men and brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.

16 Then Paul stood up, and beckoning with his hand said, Men of Israel, and ye that fear God, give audience.

17 The God of this people of Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and with a high arm brought he them out of it.

18 And about the time of forty years suffered he their manners in the wilderness.

19 And when he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Canaan, he divided their land to them by lot.

20 And after that he gave unto them judges about the space of four hundred and fifty years, until Samuel the prophet.

21 And afterward they desired a king: and God gave unto them Saul the son of Cis, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, by the space of forty years.

22 And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.

23 Of this man's seed hath God, according to his promise, raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:

24 When John had first preached before his coming the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.

25 And as John fulfilled his course,

25 Ac fel yr oedd Ioan yn cyflawni ei redfa, efe a ddywedodd, he said, Whom think ye that Í am? I am not he. But, behold, there cometh one after me, whose shoes of his feet I am not worthy to loose.

Pwy yr ydych chwi yn tybied fy mod i? Nid myfi yw efe: eithr | wele, y mae yn dyfod ar fy ol i, yr hwn nid wyf yn deilwng i ddattod esgidiau ei draed.

26 Ha wŷr frodyr, plant o genedl Abraham, a'r rhai yn eich plith sydd yn ofni Duw, i chwi y danfonwyd gair yr iachawdwriaeth hon.

27 Canys y rhai oedd yn preswylis yn Jerusalem, a'u tywysogion, heb adnabod hwn, a lleferydd y prophwydi y rhai a ddarllenid bob sabbath, gan ei farnu ef, a'u eyflawnasant.

28 Ac er na chawsant ynddo ddim achos angau, hwy a ddymunasant ar Pilat ei ladd ef.

29 Ac wedi iddynt gwblhâu pob peth a'r a ysgrifenasid am dano ef, hwy a'i disgynasant ef oddi ar y pren, ac a'i dodasant mewn bedd. 30 Eithr Duw a'i cyfododd ef oddi wrth y meirw.

31 Yr hwn a welwyd dros ddyddian lawer gan y rhai a ddaethant i fynu gyd âg ef o Galilea i Jerusalem, y rhai sydd dystion iddo wrth y bobl.

32 Ac yr ydym ni yn efengylu i chwi yr addewid a wnaed i'r tadau, ddarfod i Dduw gyflawni hon i ni eu plant hwy, gan iddo adgyfodi yr Iesu :

33 Megis ag yr ysgrifenwyd yn yr ail psalm, Fy Mab i ydwyt ti; myfi heddyw a'th genhedlais.

34 Ac am iddo ei gyfodi ef o'r meirw, nid i ddychwelyd mwy i lygredigaeth, y dywedodd fel hyn, Rhoddaf i chwi sicr drugareddau Dafydd.

35 Ac am hynny y mae yn dywedyd mewn psalm arall, Ni adewi i'th Sanct weled llygredigaeth.

36 Canys Dafydd, wedi iddo was

26 Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation

sent.

27 For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him.

28 And though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain. 29 And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre.

30 But God raised him from the dead:

31 And he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people.

32 And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers,

33 God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.

34 And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.

35 Wherefore he saith also in another psalm, Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. 36 For David, after he had served

anaethu ei genhedlaeth ei hun trwy | his own generation by the will of ewyllys Duw, a hwnodd, ac a ddod- God, fell on sleep, and was laid wyd at ei dadau, ac a welodd lygr- unto his fathers, and saw corrupedigaeth: tion :

37 Eithr yr hwn a gyfododd Duw, ni welodd lygredigaeth. 38 Am hynny bydded hysbys i chwi, ha wŷr frodyr, mai trwy hwn yr ydys yn pregethu i chwi faddeuant pechodau :

39 A thrwy hwn y cyfiawnhêir pob un sydd yn credu, oddi wrth yr holl bethau y rhai ni allech trwy gyfraith Moses gael eich cyfiawnhâu oddi wrthynt.

40 Gwyliwch gan hynny na ddêl arnoch y peth a ddywedwyd yn y prophwydi;

41 Edrychwch, O ddirmygwyr, a rhyfeddwch, a diflennwch: canys yr wyf yn gwneuthur gweithred yn eich dyddiau, gwaith ni chredwch ddim, er i neb ei ddangos i chwi.

42 A phan aeth yr Iuddewon allan o'r synagog, y Cenhedloedd a attolygasant gael pregethu y geiriau hyn iddynt y sabbath nesaf.

43 Ac wedi gollwng y gynnulleidfa, llawer o'r Iuddewon ac o'r proselytiaid crefyddol a ganlynasant Paul a Barnabas; y rhai gan lefaru wrthynt, a gynghorasant iddynt aros y'ngras Duw.

44 A'r sabbath nesaf, yr holl ddinas agos a ddaeth ynghyd i wrando gair Duw.

45 Eithr yr Iuddewon pan welsant y torfeydd, a lanwyd o genfigen, ac a ddywedasant yn erbyn y pethau a ddywedid gan Paul, gan wrth-ddywedyd a chablu.

46 Yna Paul a Barnabas a aethant yn hŷf, ac a ddywedasant, Rhaid oedd llefaru gair Duw wrthych chwi yn gyntaf: eithr o herwydd eich bod yn ei wrthod, ac yn eich barnu eich hunain yn annheilwng o fywyd tragywyddol, wele, yr ydym yn troi at y Cenhedloedd.

47 Canys felly y gorchymynodd

37 But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.

38 Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:

39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

40 Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets;

41 Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you.

42 And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.

43 Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas; who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.

44 And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.

45 But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.

46 Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.
