same power now that it had then, but it is striving hard to bring back England into its grasp, and to put out the light of Christ's holy Gospel which was kindled at the Reformation. We have put these few lines at the end of our "Fresh Gatherings," that our young readers may be led to read much, not only about Martin Luther, but about our own English Bishops, Cranmer and Ridley and Latimer, who were burned at the stake by the Church of Rome for refusing to believe all that the Pope and priests said was true. They had been taught by the Spirit and the word of God, and they would not believe and teach what they knew to be the false doctrine of Christ's enemy.

At our baptism it was prayed that we might become "Christ's faithful soldiers." May we never forget that we must be armed with the whole armour of God, as it is described in the 6th chapter of

Ephesians, from the 10th to the 18th

verse.

Remember that both old and young soldiers must fight on one of two sides, either for the Lord, or against Him. Young reader, will not you be like Martin Luther, and fight for God?
