This is a one-story building 38 ft. wide by 60 ft. long in the clear, with a vestibule 8 ft. wide on the front and two class-rooms on the rear. These communicate with the audience-room, and have an entrance on the rear. They communicate with each other by a passage on the rear of the pulpit. The height of the audienceroom is 14 ft. at the walls and 24 ft. in the centre. The tower and spire are 112 ft. high. The walls are brick, although other materials may be employed in the construction. The style is Gothic, simplified in its details in order to economize in the construction. The roof and spire are covered with slate, of one color but varied in form. The stained glass in the windows will cost 80 cts. per superficial foot. The interior side walls are plastered, with sand finish; the ceiling to be white. The pews are arranged in two double blocks, with three aisles, and will each seat five persons, making three hundred and forty sittings in all. They are placed at an angle. as will be seen by reference to the plan. The cost of the church is estimated as follows: : This is intended for a village church in Gothic style, with schoolroom attached. The audience-room is 30 ft. wide by 43 ft. long, and will seat one hundred and thirty-eight persons comfortably. There is a recess on either side of the pulpit that serves as an entrance to both church and school-room. It is designed for brick, but either stone or wood can be employed in the construction. The front has a tower with spire, and this serves as a vestibule for the entrance. The side walls are 15 ft. high and 21 ft. in the centre. The school-room is 12 ft. high with flat ceiling. The walls are 12 in. thick, with pilasters projecting 4 in. on the piers. The walls of the school building are entirely plain. They are all faced with red brick that are commonly termed stretchers. The roof and spire are slated. The tower and spire are together 80 ft. in height, and designed for a bell, to be placed at the base of the spire. No cut stone to be used, excepting for the sills of the doors and the head of the front door. The walls are plastered plain, sand finish, with white ceiling; and the windows glazed with stained glass, at 50 cts. per foot.
